CES has come to a close and now it’s time to determine who “won” and “lost” at the annual gadget/tech conference.  As I read over numerous articles about the next smart this, connected that or wearable thingy, I started to think nothing really progressed from 2015′s IoT’s…until I saw what Turner, yes your parents Turner Broadcast System announced.  Here are a couple of highlights:

-New logo re-design in early November 2015, a mix of contemporary and retro and will resonate with Millennials

-A “Native” TV ad unit that will work across all their networks based on their internal targeting data.

-TNT (one of the highest rated Cable TV Networks) is reducing their Ad loads (by 10 minutes) on their New Dramas.  Less clutter, higher brand awareness = premium ad price?

-TBS is going to “binge” their new season of Angie Tribeca on this Sunday January 17th by offering a 25 hour marathon without commercial breaks

All these moves make it clear Turner understands the current consumption habits of their audience and are willing to take a risk before it’s too late.  This is something I would have expected out of Viacom or  NBC Universal, but it’s nice to see the old guy take the lead for once.

So my winner for CES 2016 is….Turner!
